Organised by the Dubai Press Club, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Arab Media Forum (AMF) marked its 15th anniversary in May of 2016.
Held at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) in 2016, the annual event brought together speakers and attendees from across the media and related professions to discuss issues within the industry, new trends and regional themes.
With 2016 the largest AMF to date, the event spanned three halls within DWTC and the organisers required complete control over the electrics across the space. The challenge for FLOW was terminating the venue's main power and providing a reliable distribution solution - a task that had to be worked out in the event's design stage and implemented in collaboration with the build team.
Significant levels of electrics were required for the project during a limited timeframe, pressing FLOW to work around the clock based on the design and build demands.
With the network run underground using DWTC's facilities, FLOW managed a complex process of laying pipes, cords and cables throughout the venue. This necessitated strategic planning, exact positioning and close working relationship with the construction team, allowing for a flexible and reactive approach as and when situations demanded.
In addition to the setup, FLOW was available during the two-day event to offer constant electrical support.
"The requirement of managing the electrical input placed considerable pressure on FLOW to devise a manageable distribution system to power the forum."
"The team performed above and beyond our requirements and they contributed to a successful event. We have worked with FLOW on previous events and look forward to continuing this relationship going forward."
